The Beauty of of Tuesday

An unexpected blessing of living history and beautiful nature lore and sketching today. We started school this morning with Bible, our art study and a living fictional book called Juan De Pareja. I decided to load up kiddos to go to a historic site in our town.  The plan was to sit on the steps of a historic home and sketch nature while I read aloud from Burgess Bird Book. But...........An older man, a curator for the historic site, gave us an all hands on tour of every home. He told the kids they could touch anything and pick it up. I was astonished!!!!! Kids loved touching and learning Texas Civil War History.

After our Awesome guided tour with this precious man answering all the "what it this?", we walked towards a hidden garden behind this historical site. I didn't know this spot was here; running streams beautiful wild flowers, turtles, and happy kids sketching with toes in the water. It was an unexpected but delightful day.

At one point while I was taking pictures, I was overwhelmed by God at the goodness and beauty he had blessed us with today.  I choked back tears as I listened to children giggle and talk about the secret place we had found. So very thankful for this day. Thank you Jesus for the beauty.

Staycation May 2016

Joe and I got a mini staycation from Thursday until Saturday. We stayed at home and spent our days doing mini trips to drivable destinations. Thursday after we dropped the kids, I made Joe go shopping since he hasn't been in 15 years. It was time to update the wardrobe. LOL We had a great time laughing, drinking coffee and eating dinner. Friday we jetted out towards Lake Travis where a zipline adventure awaited us. It was soooooo much fun!!!!! A must if you are in the Austin area. It was beautiful to zip over the lake and area. Then we headed down to Congress street to eat some yummy food at The South Congress Cafe (Delicious!!!!). We spent Friday and Saturday enjoying time together and we got to eat lunch with some of our BFF's The Berwicks. It was a great time to enjoy talk and spend time together. Thankful for this man I get to do life with.

I know I always say time flies but seriously it does. This baby boy of mine turned 10 on me. He is pure Joy. He is always happy and super loving. He wanted a Mario and Luigi Birthday so we rocked it old school. This kid is pretty awesome and we are so thankful to be his parents. Love you sweet boy.

Happy 6th Birthday Mia!!!!!!

Mia loves the book series Madeline so we had a French themed birthday for her. She has been asking for a bike since Christmas so we surprised a special little girl with a Frozen Bicycle equipped with a place for your doll to ride. She was overjoyed.

This baby girl turned big girl almost overnight. So blessed to be her mama. Adoption has been such a huge gift to us as a family and we couldn't imagine our lives without our baby girl!!!!

Mia you a Joyful, energetic, funny, loving and a blessing!!!!!
