Texas Winter Wonderland

We have had some crazy, crazy weather for down South. We even got snow today!!!!! My boys were beyond excited. We did a little school early, but they could hardly contain their excitement that snow was falling and they weren't out in it. So what's a mama to do but let them have a snow play day. We did manage to have a great day of school, and this wonderful weather has been Great for our science we are studying.

After the boys came in from playing in the snow we went over our science vocabulary, read Snowflake Bentley, and made our own snowflakes.

It was a fun Texas Winter Wonderland Day!!!!!!!

We are still waiting to be LID.

DTC was on January 23rd!!!!

One more day until Chinese New Year, my wishful thinking was to be LID before Chinese New year. Hey a girl can dream.

This is a great book and gives some history too about the snowflake.

Change for China Fundraiser

Hello All,

We are launching another fundraiser, Change for China. So here is the deal. Our family will be passing out mason jars to be filled with loose change that you have laying around your car, your home, at the bottom of those junk drawers. :) Drop off for the mason jars is January 28th and pick up is Febraury 25th.

So, if you don't live near us, here is how you can play along. Fill any jar you have of change for the month. Cash in your change at the bank or one of those change machines at the grocery store. Then donate that amount on our paypal button on the side of our blog.

Any little bit helps and you will be being the hands and feet to our daughter. Also if you are participating in this we want a picture of your family. I am putting a book together for Cora, so she knows how many people loved her home.

Our family is also doing this. :) Every bit adds up to one step closer to Cora.

"The King will answer and say to them, "Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' Mathew 25:40

Weather in a Jar

Today was a science experiment. We started our weather and seasons study this week in Science. Objective was to create a weather system in a jar. Take a mason jar, add very hot tap water, put a funnel on top with a bag of ice, and you have created a weather jar.

It creates condensation and even has some small rain droplets!!!! Pretty cool!!!!!

I love watching my kids learn and get excited about what they are learning. When we have been out they have been trying to identify the different types of clouds. Love making learning come alive for them.

Love these Leggio Loves!!!!

6 months of work and so worth it!!!!!!

Well today was the day I drove all my dossier docs (aka adoption paperwork stack) to the Fed Ex office and mailed it to Lifeline. We have been working on this pile of papers since July, they are state certified, and Chinese Consulate Authenticated, and were ready to be mailed. Praise The Lord!!!!!!
Praying everything is in order and we can be DTC this week!!!!!
This journey is so worth the precious little one on the other end of these papers. Our sweet daughter Cora Noel Leggio. All the work is worth it when I see her sweet face.

Thank You From The Bottom of Our Hearts!!!!!!

Thank You so much, for all of you who have prayed and donated to bring Cora home.

With our fundraiser we were able to raise $7,649.00

We are blown away with your love for our daughter and our family. All of you are a part of our Cora's story, and she will know that you were.

I would love, love for all who bought a shirt to send us a picture of you wearing the shirt (the order went out last week and you should have your shirts soon), also if you donated and didn't do the shirt I would love a picture of you too. I am going to make a book for Cora so she knows who loved her home.

We are hoping to have our Docs to China this week. Praying we get Logged In (LID) before Chinese New Year, and after that is the wait for LOA (official Letter of Acceptance form China for Cora) this wait can vary in time and we are praying it is quickly. We have a little extra step because God is writing this story and we had to file an addendum with USCIS for age. Because Cora's age was not on our home study we had to do this. Praying this goes smoothly and swiftly. We don't want Cora to be without her family any longer. We are ready to hold her in our arms.

A smile that melts this mama's heart!!!!!! Thank you Jesus for choosing us to Love this child. Oh, how he knits such love in our family's heart for her.

With Much Love and Gratitude to all of you
 The Leggio Family

Oh My

Oh my is all I have to say,  the hubby sent me this pic today. See this is his Ladder truck and crew parked outside the Chinese Consulate picking up our docs for our sweet Cora. We walked docs in last week and since daddy's fire station is right around the corner he swung by to pick them up. Praying we get Logged in before Chinese New Year which starts January 30th.

Pre Approval and God's Plan

I new when we started this adoption process that God was going to write His Story in it, and I just wanted to be apart of the plan he was going to unveil. If you have adopted before you know the drill you meet with the social worker give "your" parameters:  age, special needs listed, but I just new God was going to look past those and do his plan not our own. We had different special needs listed but our social worker always puts not Limited too, but we had age 0-6. I bet God was laughing when we put that because his beautiful plan would not include those ages, but would include us falling in Love with an older child who would be nine years old.
His plan started from the beginning, and he started working on my heart when a precious blog mother Maureen posted a story that broke me. As I watched it my heart ached, and so the Love for a child grew from that seed planted.
I am Happy to Announce that we have PA for our Precious Cora Noel Leggio!!!!!! Our sweet Blessing. Thank you Lord for speaking to our hearts.

The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Pslam 33:11

The Lord Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand." Isaiah 14:24

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell them, they would be to many to declare. Psalm 40:5

Our Sweet Cora!!!!!!

Love her smile!!!!!
