Some Grandparent and Great Grandparent Fun

Friday was a special day because we got to spend it with some special people. I am blessed that my moms parents are still living, and the kids can make some memories with them, and know how wonderful they are. I have very good memories of them growing up.
We decided to go to the Music Man Play put on by Christian Youth Theater. These plays are great and if you get a chance to go to one..... go. The kids do such an Amazing job performing, dancing, and singing.
It was a special treat and we took my grandparents to the play and lunch. It was a fun day. While we were at the play my mom took Mia shopping. She loves her Mimi time!!!!

Barn Door Love

I am loving my barn doors my hubby made for our home. I am blessed to have a very handy hubby who always puts up with my ideas and lets me play with fun colors. I love Coral right now. I am drawn to it in all things including clothes. LOL I found a great coral color at Home Depot and made my own chalk paint. We bought two new doors and painted, sanded, and sealed them to look worn and weathered. Joe went to a scrap metal shop and got the bar for sliding the barn doors. A little welding and presto Barn Doors.

This year for Language Arts we are working on Poetry, and to start it off we have been working on Limericks. So today the boys had to write their own Limericks.
To my surprise they loved it. these are funny poems and they can be silly with them hence why they loved it so much.
I had them illustrate their Limericks too and I wanted to share. :)
Love these boys very much.
I was reading a very good book,
It told me how to cook.
I cook quite well,
Until my book fell.
And I couldn't take a look.

There was a funny old dog,
He would always go for a jog.
And get a snack,
In a shack.
And go to his log.

Houston Grand Prix

We got to experience the Houston Grand Prix thanks to Grandpa Leggio. Joe's dad is a Senior Captain of Inspection with HFD, and helps run the safety measures for the Houston Grand Prix. This year he wanted the grandkids to experience it too. I have to say I actually had fun, and got a little giddy seeing the cars up close. Television doesn't do it justice. The speed these cars go can only be felt in person. We had great seats and were right across from the pits (where the cars pull in for new tires and repairs.) It was Awesome and we are thankful to Grandpa Leggio for a great day. It was so neat to see all the drivers from all over the world. Just a cool day!!!!!

Help Bring Cora Home

Here they are!!!! Our fundraising cards, a HUGE Thank you to Julie Johnson for the beautiful pictures and cards you made our family. We love them.
So many of you wonder why we are adopting again, and why we would start another adoption not having the money to pay for it. If we operated in this fear Mia would never have her forever family, and we would not be so blessed to have her here with us. I type this with my precious China blessing sitting on my lap singing her little heart out. All I can say is when God says jump, we need to have the faith to do it and know he is going to take care of the details.
Our family's heart was broken over the orphaned, and God forever connected our hearts to a very special place China. We will forever be grateful to God for this journey, and to China for allowing us to be blessed with our precious girl.
As God has stirred our hearts on our second journey to Cora Noel Leggio we know God is going to be in all the details even the financial ones. We are not all called to adopt, but we are all called to help in some way. Whether it is praying for our family or other adoptive families you know or helping financially bring these precious little ones home to their forever families. Know that you are blessing whatever family you are doing this for.
Believe me we covet your prayers. Adoption is not for Cissy's. It is hard, physically and emotionally draining and yet sooooo beautiful. If you have followed my blog you know how hard it was with Mia at first. She grieved something awful, and we grieved right along with her. And through the ashes God has brought such beauty. We can't imagine our lives without her.
As we gear up to see the face of our precious Cora we need your prayers. Prayer for fear not to creep in as we look over her medical file. For us to act in Faith and not operate in Fear. For some that don't know we are adopting from China Special Needs. Mia was China Special Needs too. We know God is in this also.
We are doing a couple fundraisers. One just asking if the Lord calls you to be apart of bringing Cora home, the other we are joining with Project Love One, and doing Find 5 to launch soon. Basically you buy a Project Love one T-shirt and find 5 others to buy one and those 5 find 5 other people and so on. I will keep you posted when we start this. Project Love One does Amazing things for the orphan all over the world and domestically, and we are honored that they would ask our family to fundraise for. Thank you Project Love One .
And Thank All Of You!!!!! Love your Brother and Sister in Christ Joe and Amber Leggio
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27 NASB
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18 NASB
The King will answer and say to them, "Truly I say to you to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me." Mathew 25:40 NASB
